Terms of Service (Clients)

Adult Social Care Marketplace Ltd, trading as Connectea · Company No. 15270298 · ICO No. ZB718736 · Registered office: 93 Greencroft Gardens, London NW6 3PG · contact@connectea.com · Version 1.1 · September 2026

These terms apply to clients and families using Connectea. If you are a companion, our general Terms and Conditions and Code of Conduct apply to you.

1. Acceptance of these Terms

By creating a Connectea account, you confirm that you have read, understood, and agree to be bound by these Terms of Service. If you do not agree to these Terms, you should not create an account or use Connectea.

2. What Connectea Is

Connectea is a platform for discovering and arranging companionship — real people, connected through a cup of tea and genuine conversation. Companions are directly employed by Connectea. When you arrange a companionship visit through Connectea, you are contracting with Connectea, not directly with the companion.

3. Eligibility

You must be at least 18 years old and able to enter into a legally binding contract to create a Connectea account. If you are arranging a companionship visit on behalf of someone else (for example, a family member), you confirm that you are authorised to do so and that you will ensure they are informed of and comfortable with the visit.

4. Discovering and Booking a Companion

Connectea allows you to browse companion profiles and request a companionship arrangement based on who you'd like to meet. Once a companion shares their availability with you, you choose a time slot to book. A booking is confirmed once you select a slot and receive confirmation from Connectea.

5. Visit Duration and Billing

After each visit, you will receive a message confirming the charge as per your booking.

6. Payment

7. Cancellations

If you need to cancel or change a booked visit, please do so with as much notice as possible so your companion can be informed. Cancellations made with insufficient notice may still be billed in accordance with Section 5 above, as the companion's time has already been reserved for you.

8. Companion Conduct and Safeguarding

All companions have completed Connectea's vetting process, including a Basic DBS check and mandatory training before being activated on the platform. If you have any concern about a companion's conduct during or after a visit, please contact Connectea immediately at contact@connectea.com. Full details of Connectea's approach to safeguarding are available on our Safeguarding page.

9. Ratings and Reviews

After a visit, you may be invited to rate and leave a comment about your companion. Reviews should be honest and respectful. Connectea reserves the right to remove reviews that are abusive, defamatory, or unrelated to the companionship visit itself.

10. Referral Codes and Promotions

From time to time, Connectea may run promotional programmes, including referral incentive programmes and introductory offers (such as a free first visit). Any such programme is offered at Connectea's discretion, may be changed, paused, or withdrawn at any time for new registrations, and any specific terms of a given promotion will be made clear to you at the time it is offered.

If you register using a companion's referral code, your account is permanently linked to that companion, who receives a commission from Connectea for hours you book. This does not change the price you pay.

11. Your Account

You are responsible for keeping your account details accurate and your login credentials secure. You must notify Connectea promptly if you believe your account has been accessed without your permission.

12. Data Protection

Connectea processes your personal data in accordance with UK data protection law and our Privacy Notice, available at connectea.com/privacy. By using Connectea, you consent to the collection and use of your information as described there.

13. Liability

Connectea takes reasonable care in vetting and onboarding companions. However, to the fullest extent permitted by law, Connectea's liability to you in connection with a companionship visit is limited to the amount you paid for that visit.

14. Suspension and Termination

Connectea may suspend or terminate your account if you breach these Terms, behave inappropriately towards a companion, or provide false information. You may close your account at any time by contacting contact@connectea.com.

15. Direct Payments to Companions

Companions are employed by Connectea. Inviting them to deliver service or offering them to receive payments outside the established Connectea process is considered a breach of contract terms and must never be pursued under any circumstances. If any such case comes to our knowledge, Connectea does reserve the right to pursue legal action.

16. Changes to These Terms

Connectea may update these Terms from time to time. Where changes are material, we will take reasonable steps to notify you (for example, by email or an in-app notice) before they take effect. Continued use of Connectea after changes take effect constitutes acceptance of the updated Terms.

17. Governing Law

These Terms are governed by the laws of England and Wales, and any disputes will be subject to the exclusive jurisdiction of the courts of England and Wales.

18. Contact

Questions about these Terms can be sent to contact@connectea.com.
